As stories, traditions, and familiar places sometimes felt far away, flavor became one of my strongest connections to where I came from. A single bite of something familiar could feel grounding like a little piece of home.
And now, I see that joy in my daughters. Through the flavors they love, they’re discovering our roots and creating a connection to them that is entirely their own.
Today, I share that same feeling through SugarBar, creating desserts that bring together memory, culture, and joy. Every batch is baked with love, bringing together bold South Asian flavors, a touch of nostalgia, and a little creativity.

A Name with a Story
Playful, nostalgic,
and full of flavor
Behind the name is a bit of playful nostalgia. In Gujarati, we say “shu gadbad?”, a lighthearted way of asking, “what did you mess up now?” Over time, that spirit of fun and mischief evolved into SugarBar, a space where creativity, joy, and a little delicious chaos come together.
